Vito and Willy is our brand, a dream come true in our ‘Óptica Samot’ in Santander since 1917.
This collection is a collaboration with the Spanish-Mexican artist TeTé Ruiz.
TeTé with his works inspired the Vito&Willy X TT eyewear collection, a great success since its launch at Óptica Samot, in the summer of 2020.
She has developed series of paintings made with a template on large canvases. Rock style, and with total ‘panache’, she presents an exquisite collection of artworks, working the canvases with acrylic and spray colors, adding oil brushstrokes. She finishes off the works with the ‘encapsulatio’ technique, which consists of applying a layer of epoxy resin burned with a blowtorch -provides protection to the painting, producing an imposing shine – highlighting the colors and the transgressive effect even more.

Since 1917
2017 was a very special year in Samot, 100 years have passed since Severiano Quintana opened a small photo-recording workshop in Santander in 1917. Later, in the 1920s, his sons Alejandro and Tomás expanded the workshop into a thriving Optics and Photography business.
